Hi Amrit,
Somebody wants me to create a web site in the newspaper format,
using one or two columns. I can do it using tables, but I remember
that can be done with CSS too. Does someone know how, or has
someone done it in the list so that I can see the code?

I'm not sure if they're any good for you, but I have the icons of the
browsers on one of my pages - you're welcome to borrow the images if you
want...

It's in the Cross-Browser section of the page near the bottom. Make sure you
read my recommendation
Amrit: You should check www.glish.com
Goes through all variations including three column, which you may need if
you want vertical navigation 'bars'.

Rafiq,
Thanks for the advice. I finally came across the MS troubleshooter for
downloads and went through that to no 7, and downloads are now back.

Hugh,
Like you it has taken me months. Finally I found (through the help I have
been given) the MS download troubleshooter. I had to get to no7 - which
took about 6, yes six, hours to clean out temporary~1. But that put
download back on track.
In searching and getting advice I have been

Yeah, but if that happens all the intelligent computers will remove Windows
from themselves and install Linux!

MOU, this is why I use the percentage widths and total less than 100%. In
many cases this makes browser differences in box sizing a moot issue. If you
have to have a perfect fit, it won't work. But if close is ok and you don't
mind some slight shifts in the right side elements (assuming a 2 or

Go for it! I'm having fun building my own distro at the moment, I'm getting
a AMD-K6-II 300MHz working as a DNS, DHCP and Web/Database server over a
wireless lan! Try doing that in windows on 64Mb of RAM!

When we buy our next notebook my son will get the one my husband is
using and his AMD K6-II 400 with I either 96 or 128 mg of ram (don't
recall exactly and I'm not at home to check) will be my husband's to
play with. He's probably going to put SuSe Linux on it as an
experiment/learning tool.
I have an old Canon 486 dx laptop with removable hard drives. I am running
Grey Hat Linux on one drive and am loving the heck out of it. I barely ever
use the min Win 95 that is on the other hard drive.
