Our SIG is part of the Houston Area League of PC Users which has something
like 2,000 members. The various web related SIGs have a total membership of
around 200 but mine in theory has 96. That's the number of people who
subscribe to the mail list but it is rare for us to have more than 20-25
membe

offer just one basic point. In my experience all organistations are driven
by their organiser, usually the chairman (chairwoman, chair, convenor, chief
master of ceremonies).
It does take effort and time, but not too much
that have broad appeal.
