Click on Office and then FrontPage and see if you can get any help there.

An Asp page wont work with a FP extension (CGI) page.
You have to done one or the other.
Plus your HOST has to offer asp as an option on the server to use ASP.
There are many many free scripts out there for password protection.
Do a search.

Sorry to contradict, but on my server you can run ASP scripts, Perl, PHP,
Java and JSP scripts.
However - you can't mix the code in the same page -
Then I am wrong
My answer was based on host shopping
You tend to see Host's that do ASP, or do Unix.
The ones who offer ASP are Windoz shops
The ones that do Unix, dont.

That's true at the cheaper end of the market, but there are some Unix hosts
that have either ChiliASP or instantASP installed, which are versions of ASP
After reading the other answers, let me clarify
ASP and FrontPage extensions CAN exist on the same server, and within the
same site. A fully functional ASP page can call an HTM page with fully
functional FrontPage components, and vice versa; you can even use frames to
display an HTM and ASP
