I'd like to allow only paragraph line breaks in user-created content

Am looking for the simplest way, so therefore would like to avoid CKEditor
and Markmin, or use them in a way that doesn't force me to enable XML-risk
related injection in editor

Content will be in regular w2p text type field. When user is adding content
in the text field, the paragraph/line-breaks display in edit mode, but
disappear when displaying in the view. How to get line breaks to display?

I'm not sure if I understand CKEditor, Markmin, or other user-editors in a
way that enables me to phrase my question intelligently but am hoping to at
least get general ideas from the group.

thanks
