The .lib file is an import library that contains stubs to all the functions in the DLL and automatically loads and attachs the DLL. This is how much win32 shared libraries (DLLs) are packaged (otherwise you have to open the library yourself and search for all the entry points and build pointer

It sounds like this mail is specifically requesting one thing: that .lib files be included in windows nightlies. Is that correct? (I don't know what a .lib file is enough to know if this is a good idea or not.) If that is your request, please file a bug. http://webkit.org/quality/reporting.html
