Ubuntu 16.04 seems to have a libusb1 version which does not work with
either WMR300 driver. I tried without success.
Debian 9 and WMR300x is working fine. According to some users, Raspbian
(based on Debian 9) and WMR300x works also fine.

Agreeing on weewx being reliable. It has been running non-stop for I think
3 years now. This is why I don't want it to fill up my syslog.. :-) I trust
it to work, and if not then I want to be notified.
And of course it is useful having plenty of logging available. But I think
