I really do not see how you can 'convert' snowfall to rainfall - surely they are different things. Thomas's heated rain gauge does indeed sound like a slightly better way to go. You could always add a 'ConvertedSnow' column to the database, put your converted snow value into a txt file and hav

Thank you. I know these options. Until know - since about 18 years I use the software "virtual weather station" an there was no problem to add values (like melted snow) I have a calibrated rain cup where I melt the snow periodically to get the rainfall in winter. (when it snows) Maybe someone k

Thanks everyone. Some responses: - the log I showed in the OP was from journalctl - thanks for the suggestion though - I didn't think that weewx as doing something special during the 'genStartupRecords' step but I just wanted to check - I did Google those messages and (as with the replies here)
