I use a RPi that collects the data from a Davis Vantage Pro2. The data uploads to Weather Underground and is always correct. If I look at the station data in my web browser, the last date where data as logged is 12-10-2020. Even today, the NOAA file for 12-2020 has todays date, though the

systemd comes with a simplified client-only time service called systemd-timesyncd , which, on many systems, is on by default. You should run either systemd-timesyncd or ntp, but not both. To see if you are already running systemd-timesyncd:
