Had a [self-created] problem so had to reinstall Mint and weewx and there are two things that weren't happening, but are now. Starting with the standard [stock] skin I get

john@w0avq:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/weewx start
[ ok ] Starting weewx (via systemctl): weewx.service.<------ I just don't recall "via systemctl" Does it mean anything?
john@w0avq:~$ tail -f /var/log/syslog

Both the local and remote displays seem to look just fine. Also, looking at the syslog, there are no other errors I can see. Suggestions?
