My Vantage Vue station, weewx and my RPi run fine but from time to time I experiment with another RPi to try out new things, usually using Simulator as my input.
A day or two ago, I put a fresh copy of the latest Raspian (which I think was released just last week - maybe a bad idea!) on an SD card, added the modifications for a RTC, installed nginx and then installed weewx using setup.py. All seemed fine. When I manually fired up weewx, what looked like simulated data began scrolling by on the terminal. I finally stopped it using Cntrl-C. Same thing when I restarted again. I have never had this happen before. Does anyone recognize this as a simple problem - with a simple solution? I don't want anyone to spend much time trying to figure this out. The issue seemed so dramatic with screens of data spewing past, I thought someone might recognize the issue. Since I have done so little customization, it may be simpler to start from scratch rather than spending a lot of time trying to ferret out an obscure error if it isn't obvious. Using the latest release of Raspian may not have been the smartest thing to do, either! I don't think I need any of the latest features so if that's the problem, I can go back to an earlier version.
