That seems reasonable to me. You could set it as false by default so existing
terrains wouldn't be broken (presumably), while still allowing it to be hidden
for certain types where appropriate. Special-case, but with some default
fall-back behaviour.
I'm just updating this to point out that rails now also appear in Secrets of
the Ancients (notably, Scenario 20: North Knalga) in addition to Northern
Rebirth (in terms of official campaigns).
