It wouldn't break on windoze because "file.html" still exists. He just
wants a different naming schema for the newer copies. There would be no
links to "file.html.1" or "file 1.html" for that matter, so it really
doesn't matter which way you rename it.
Although if there is a file called "file
Svend,
I did not have the same problem when I put it in quotation marks, see below:
I am running GNU Wget 1.9.1 on windows xp
-
C:\ranjit\wget>wget -P "%HOMEPATH%/mm" http://www.google.com
--10:56:45-- http://www.goo
use the -O option to rename to different file, eg below
C:\ranjit\wget>wget -O "mark.html" http://www.google.com
This saves google page to mark.html

Hello,
I
Maybe the server has some sort of limitations to hits from the same IP
address over a time period. 1400 pages is a lot, maybe they got mad at
you and send you all 500's from then on :)

Paula,
Go to the directory where you have WGET installed, ie. The directory in
which wget.exe is located. The error is saying windows cannot find the
"wget" program.

I agree with Tony.i think most basic users, me included, thought
www-*.yoyodyne.com would not match www.yoyodyne.com
Support globs as default, regexp as the more powerful option.

hi all, i'm new to
wget, but the following result has baffled the hell out of me. i tried
doing
wget -r -np --level=1
http://www.spaceimaging.com/gallery/ and it keeps on going below
level 1 i.e. gallery/rita/hurricanes and so on for many directories. also
it goes a level above and got
12 matches
