Well I found that if I rename /usr/include/zlib.h compilation goes on.
I cannot remove the package:

Correct, your type is the enum class name now.
If you don't give the enum class itself an explicit type, it will default to
int, which would be fine in this case. You also don't need to assign numbers to
the members, this is entirely optional and should only be done when you
explicitly depend
What can this mean?
Widelands executable directory: /var/widelands/installed-trunk/
full path: /var/widelands/installed-trunk/share/widelands
Adding directory: /var/widelands/installed-trunk/share/widelands
selected language: (system language)
using locale en_US
Graphics: Try to set Videomode
I think there is a real bug lurking here.
Apparently zlib renamed some stuff and now our image_io is broken with this
change. We need to figure out which version broke and what the change zlib did
is. Could you open a bug?

There is so assert in graphics.cc at this line in trunk.
In line 141 though, there is this assert:
assert(SDL_BYTESPERPIXEL(disp_mode.format) == 4);
which checks that you got 32bit graphics depth. If you did not get that,
Widelands will not work (we assume 32bit depth in many

but what about this line:
size 960 -1080474760
nonsensical, isn't it?
Yup, seems like the display height did not get set properly. Maybe try nuking
~/.widelands/config.

Guys, my fault.
As I mentioned I had v 1.2.8 from system and 1.2.5 installed manually.
Before upgrade to jessie no problem, but now these two somehow interfered.
I removed the one installed manually and now it compiles.
I apologize for wasting you time

yes, depth is 24 bit, I am going to investigate what can be done with this
:)

Alright, it is bit strange - on that notebook without external monitors the
widelands can not run, with/on external monitor - it runs. So it is ok
