What happened here? This was marked a duplicate of a RESOLVED FIXED bug, but
the oldid link I posted in the first place still has the problem I identified.

The bug was fixed in MediaWiki, but Wikimedia is still using a version without
the fix.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I assume the MW version this was fixed in one
that WM projects will be using at some point, then?
