The weirdness is that two entirely different footnotes are labelled as "[1]".
There are six footnotes but only three numbers.

The letters are separated by spaces, new lines or tabs.
This means that if you wanted link names with spaces (eg. 'twenty four',
separating with a space), you can't.

I see your example for Klingon :) I have seen some uses of {{ref}} with Greek
