Bug #: 28724 Summary: Newlines in LQT tooltips misrender on Firefox (upstream bug; workaround?) Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: LiquidThreads AssignedTo: agarr...@wikimedia.org ReportedBy: br...@wikimedia.org CC: bhar...@wikimedia.org Classification: Unclassified Tooltip text for some LiquidThreads UI components contain literal newlines, which are encoded as in the raw HTML output. IE 8 and Chrome 11 render them as actual newlines, which is presumably what's intended: "Remove this thread from new messages. It will still be visible on its original talk page." Firefox 4 collapses the newlines out entirely, which ends up slamming two sentences next to each other without a space in between: "Remove this thread from new messages. It will still be visible on its original talk page." Opera 11 doesn't show the tooltips at all on buttons. Firefox's behavior seems to be officially at odds with HTML 5 spec now, so there's some chance it may get fixed at some point. :) Upstream bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358452 In the meantime, it might be nice to modify these tooltips so they look nice and read cleanly when newlines are removed: either rewrite onto a single line with proper spacing, or hack in some extra spaces maybe. :P -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
