In latest master we support layout flipping on Android 4.2 and above, but even
without that I was seeing the correct placeholder layout on 4.2.
Will have to check on 2.3...

Yes.
Do them RTL in RTL languages.
Android is supposed to align the password itself automatically.

Hmmm, the difference between the two is that the second one is a password
field. Are placeholders for password text fields aligned properly in other
applications?
