Our webserver set up had only SymLinksIfOwnerMatch turned on, and not
FollowSymlinks by default (which is a sane value).
In practice, the former option only provides minimal security value and
prevents some useful edge cases like yours (where tools share a directory) and
has been switched to the latter.
