Note that this will need someone experienced with Wikidata to work on this.
Enabling Wikidata support is definitely not an easy task, and requires
knowledge about the project's internals.

Thanks @Cparle and @daniel. Fixed my patch. I felt something like that can be
necessary, but don't have enough Wikibase knowledge to fully judge. Since I had
about 10 spare mins when I thought about writing something to start the work to
limit this bug's scope

Config changes go live when someone schedules it for deployment, code changes
go live the next week after they are merged (Wednesday for non-Wikipedias,
Thursday for Wikipedias). Since the non-config change might be redundant, I can
