This bug was mentioned today at LSWT'22 <https://dataweek.de/lswt2022/> by @SebastianHellmann as a blocker for integrating Wikidata in linked data applications. Fetching a URI with content negotiation is the standard way to retrieve information about an entity in the linked open data movement, so it does feel like this would be worth solving.
