Agreed - any of the public meetings I've attended have been a waste of
time. The few I've attended have had to be kept going on life support, and
very few lay members turn up to them. It's not in my view working as a form
of engagement, and I don't think when they were instituted it would have

As members will be aware, in 2012, Wikimedia Australia committed to a
project with the University of Queensland (UQ) and Australian Paralympic
Committee (APC). In February 2013, the three entities applied for an
Australian Research Council linkage grant, which was successful. The

It would have been much better if this was made known to those who aren't
in the inner WMAU committee circle before the public IRC meeting, and have
that meeting better advertised, because I am sure there are going to be
plenty of people who see major issues that the committee may not have seen.
