The board needs to learn how to write a statement that actually says something... Apologising for mistakes is meaningless if you don't acknowledge what those mistakes are. This statement comes across as defensive and empty of actual content. What have you done wrong? What are you doing about

As I've said directly on the blog post I personally appreciate that the board is willing to acknowledge that mistakes have been made and understand that damage has been caused. It is very hard for the board to go into any details while the review is ongoing. That will inevitably come up with
