[Wikitech-l] GSoC: improving Incubator usability and MediaWiki language support

code updates quickly after the code is branched. Lastly, I probably could have achieved more in the GSoC summer, but it is always surprising how fast the time can go even though you are a lot of your time at your computer. Thank you, Robin Pepermans (SPQRobin) [1] All languages: https

[Wikitech-l] Google Summer of Code project: improving language support and Incubator usability

2012-05-08 Thread Robin Pepermans
Hello, I am one of the Google Summer of Code students and I will be working on improving language support in MediaWiki (in particular with regards to language names) and improving the usability of Wikimedia Incubator (following my previous work on the Incubator-specific extension). More informatio

2012-03-28 Thread Robin Pepermans
Hi, I'd like to participate in Google Summer of Code. After thinking about several options (global preferences, export/import, ...) I took the subject that I am most excited about and that is a continuation of what I have been doing as a volunteer, improving Incubator (with an extension) and langu

I am planning to participate in GSoC, and was looking for a project. Global preferences also came to my mind, and now I see this thread. So if Jeremias doesn't take this project, I will consider doing it. 2012/2/16 Sumana Harihareswara : > On 02/15/2012 04:39 PM, Andrew Garrett wrote: >> On Wed, F

Thanks Roan for deploying! I was also wondering, if language codes were simply added to that "langlist", would they work with the missing.php script? Or do they need more configuration, e.g. in DNS? 2011/12/21 Robin Pepermans > Fixed in r106957. I apparently made the commit t

Fixed in r106957. I apparently made the commit too quickly, I also forgot a } with elseif. For the /variant/ instead of /wiki/, I think it will work for the old secure server but for the normal URLs there is a preg_replace '/^\/wiki\//' so it won't recognise a variant there (it would default to th

[Wikitech-l] Missing wiki redirect script

2011-12-18 Thread Robin Pepermans
Hi, Danny B. and I adapted the script used for non-existing wikis (trunk/tools/web-scripts/missing.php) so it redirects to the respective test wiki at Wikimedia Incubator. This would be a huge usability improvement (however, only for languages configured in Wikimedia). For Wikiversity & Wikisource

I once was thinking about something like that, but I didn't know the tag existed. Really awesome, great functionality! I hope it can be used on Commons soon. 2011/12/8 Harry Burt > Hey all. > > I'm looking for comments regarding an extension I knocked up today and its > viability for Wikimedia

[Wikitech-l] List of ISO 639-1/3 language codes and names in MW core?

2011-08-31 Thread Robin Pepermans
Hi, For Wikimedia Incubator, a list of ISO 639-1/3 language codes would be useful. I generated a PHP array based on , and I wanted to make an extension of that (which would be enabled on Incubator). FYI: the array contains 7706 ISO 639-3 codes, besid
