I lately switched Commons coordinate template
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Location from using dozens
of subtemplates to much cleaner Lua code. Everything works great, except
for Special:WhatLinksHere links. The no longer used subtemplates like

I was working lately on a template on commons related to automatic
overlay KML creation (see [1] for KML use on Commons). Two of the items
I need but do not know how to access are full file dimensions in pixels
and the url to the raw image (like [2]). I think with Lua, I can use

Over the years while editing on Commons, I run several times into lock
down pages that can't be edited. The issue is that after the page was
created the website listed as the image source was added to the list of
blocked sites by the spam filter as blacklisted external site. As a

I can do that. Thanks to all.

There's also stat1.wikimedia.org, but I'm not sure who all has access to that.
I think just WMF staff and WMF-approved researchers, but I could be wrong.

I do a lot of maintenance tasks on Commons, and many tasks require some sort of
database query to find the oddball cases. The queries can be done through one
of several ways:
1) Using CatScan and CatScan2[2] tools
2) Database query service [3]
3) Weekly Database reports [4]

I agree with Erik that multi-language support on multi-language projects like
Commons is very messy, complicated and inconsistent. The system has morphed
into a web of java scripts and templates designed and maintained by many users
that know only small section of the whole system. For example,
I do a lot of work on Commons, while using a setting that all pages I edit go
to my watchlist. In the past I was able to control the size of my watchlist by
occasionally purging it by editing raw watchlist. However when Cat-a-lot gadget

Two separate users on Commons complained that interproject links from Wikimedia
Commons to Wikidata, like [[d:Q7186]] produce hyperlinks in form
"http://wikidata.org/wiki/Q35548"; or " http://en.wikidata.org/wiki/Q35548";
which do not allow editing of wikidata. Only external link to
