Given the problems that Wine has had with Installers, had anyone noticed
that WiX has now been released by Microsoft (under the CPL license) on
Sourceforge.

It seems to be accessible as http://wix.sf.net, but that redirects to a

presumably because they are on the debian servers, and using apt-get with a
standard source.list pointing only at the the debian servers they are
always available to any Debian user.

I just upgraded my Debian system (unstable) which runs Notes 5, and it
upgraded to wine version 20040121. Notes seems to run, I do not get the
error described below but I am getting an odd error with the clipboard. At
least it is reported as a clipboard error, it actually occurs when trying

A further problem with the Debian install is that winedefault.reg is
delivered packed (.gz). Perhaps as a further addition to regedit (or what
ever command line version is to be used) should be to unpack it as well as
read it - otherwise please can the Debian version be shipped ungziped.
