I have spent most of career in the manufacturing business sector. I was recently assigned to manage the purchasing and inventory control for my company. Before I try to re-invent the wheel in the ISP Industry, I want to know if there is a canned MRP (Material Requirements Planning) Package that others are using that works for the wireless internet providers. I want it to include the following:
. A configuration input for special projects and additions to typical installs . Input for forecasting . Ability to set planning horizons . Lead times, re-order point, lots, etc. . A pick list for each standard install type . A pick list from special configurations . An MRP explosion - compares demand and supply which eventually creates a suggested purchasing list along with an exception list that suggests to "pull-in orders" and "push-out orders" Lori D.
