RE: [WIRELESS-LAN] Horizontal AP mounting options

2013-10-25 Thread Stewart, Joe
The Cisco 702W looks very promising for our dorm rooms that are very limited due to legacy infrastructure and I can't wait to try these out. Anyone know an approximate cost on those yet? Even though Cisco recommends you mount most AP's horizontally, I have mounted many vertical about 8 feet high

As we remodel newer dorms moving forward, we put a network drop above the ceiling tile for every other room and then evaluate as needed for placement. We moved from about 4 to 5 access points per dorm building for legacy deployments over to about 20 in newer construction. -67 to -70 dBi is a goo

802.11AC Future Infrastructure

As this technology begins to be deployed is anyone out there planning ahead for wave two of this? I know it's not going to happen for a while but I'm curious if there are folks in the process of new construction where you have the option to add the infrastructure now to support the 10Gbps. If

We recommend that students use a "wired connection" as well. For PS3 units they use a built in browser which hits our captive portal with our student network agreement and they have to sign in with their credentials, which registers the console. We manage this using Netreg (an automated DHCP

Anyone know the price difference between the 2700 and the 3700? Without the future proof modularity support for the second phase of AC I'm wondering why you wouldn't just want the 3700 series. --Joe -Original Message- From: The EDUCAUSE Wireless Issues Constituent Group Listserv [mail

I feel everyone’s pain, in fact I spent most of last week working with my colleague on setting up SNMP credentials and ip access lists to use the switch port trace feature in Cisco Prime Infrastructure (requires lifecycle license). This feature uses your enterprise access points that picked up

Internet Service Provider Options

Hector, Ironic that you sent this. Today we had a lightning strike and we lost 5 cameras connected to a POE switch. At the time we figured it was a power outage but upon logging into the switch it looks like it rebooted and it didn’t past POST for POE. A minute later the switch went dead again.
