I'm sure you probably already checked this but the first thing I check when it come's to a Mac is make sure the student has the latest updates on there machine. I've had some similar issues but I'm running the 7.0.98.0 code with 1252's in the dorms. You could try upgrading to the 6.0.202.0 code
