If you go to Preferences → Advanced, what is the value of gui.qt.font_name? It
looks like you're using a proportional font.

Fixed by changing to default the gui.qt.font_name value. The space is also gone
why the value is back to default.
Interesting why it got changed as I do not remember doing it.
