Hi Ulf,
So far neither did I. But now more and more often we get messages on the list
asking about these matters, and there is confusion on the subject. Especially
since branching out to other versions of the MS compiler suite.
So if the Windows Wizz's can work this into the build scripts, every

So I do not see the reason for which it must not be a dissector.
Seems to work well with the current implementation of my plugin.

Hello! I'm creating a Lua dissector to dissect custom packets that
contain header data and then other message-type-specific data. I made
dissectors for the header data and message-type data in separate Lua
files, and then want to call those dissectors from inside this one.
However, after I call t

Hi Rajith,
this command should be entered in the after building your plugin from the
directory your plugin resides.
eg.
cd \wireshark\plugins\ #switch to your plugin dir
nmake -f Makefile.nmake#build your plugin
mt -manifest .manifest -outputresource:;2
Hope this helps,

Some do, *if*:
1) you're running on Vista (or perhaps 2008 Server)

Hi,
You can distribute the .dll .NOTE the .dll MUST be built with the same
WS version and compiler as the one the user has installed, otherwise it
might not work.
The .dll should be placed in the plugin dir of the installed WS
