Hi Alex,
You have mentioned JTransit a number of times, and I wanted to
respond to that. JTransit certainly has intriguing aspects to it.
You can compile both T2K/Witango code and CF code together in
one program. The ability to use CF tags in my Witango program would
be cool. On the other hand, u

It definitely supports date and time datatypes seperately, along with
datetime. I will have to check on the sub-selects, views.

G'day Robert,
Does it support the following?
Sub-Selects
Views
(which MySQL doesn't)
and DATE and TIME data types
(rather than DATETIME).
Just trying to save myself some homework time here...

G'day Robert,
Does PrimeBase have a DATE data type and a TIME data type?
(SQLServer and Sybase Adaptive Server have only DATETIME.)

For as long as I Know, primebase has run on Windows NT/2000, Mac OS 9,OS X,
Solaris, IBM AIX, Linux, and Solaris.
It runs as well as the operating system will let it. Obviously, it is OK for
OS 9, but screams under the others. I have tested it myself under all but
solaris and aix. I actually run
I thought it was a Mac specific Database :-b
What about PrimeBase on the windows platform (I know shot me later)
I went to one site and it didn't mention Win2k, the site could be old.
With the work that you have put into it, would sway me to use it.

I don't know about Postgre, but not only does PrimeBase handle large text
fields, but it has a feature called "index words" that will allow you to
index large text fields by word. It works great.
PrimeBase has a great way of handling blobs for text and binary info. There

The main thing would be to check in the /library/frameworks/ folder. IODBC 3.5 should have 2 to 3 folders in here, especially “iODBC.framework”. If it does, then I would dare say that PrimeBase is already compatible. I will have to install Jag and chec

I want to get the Witango Archive off M$Access ASAP ;-)

That would be such a big plus for me. A lot of things I do require very
large text fields...
I think from everything I've read here, Postgres and Primebase are my two
candidates.

It looks like its iODBC. Looking in “about”, I see iodbc-config /usr/bin/iodc-config and all the libs say “libiodbc*”.
And that’s what came with Jag.

Yup
It supports everything you'd need.
Besides the fact that it also has sequences, I love the fact that its varchar2 implementation has no size limit. So you can have a varchar2(32000) and it works just fine. No need for CLOB

I spent some time with Rbase, and there were a few things that held me back. It is not fully SQL 92 compliant, and it does not offer the platform and connection choices necessary. Primebase runs equally well on Windows NT/2000, Linux, Solaris, OS X, IB
Title: Re: Witango-Talk: Database question
One of PrimeBase’s strengths is its many connection methods provided. They do have JDBC for every platform. As far as ODBC, that was my decision as to which OS X ODBC manager primebase should support. They told me they would rewrite their ODBC driver f

Question:
Are you looking to create an IMAP server? Or just interact with an IMAP
server?
The reason I am asking is this. The New @EMAIL and @EMAILSESSION tags
let you interact with an IMAP/POP3 server, but they don't let you create
an IMAP Server. Just wanted to clarify this.

have them both exist on the same page.
