Having Witango provide the password would be the ideal thing to do. But I'm
not sure how to accomplish it -- perhaps a custom header. I'm not familiar
enough with email to know.
As far as the server goes, it is outside my network, but I have not found a
way to allow unauthenticated access for only
If you are using V5 you could do it with the <@EMAIL><@EMAILSESSSION>
tags.
Or you could setup an intermediary mail server that will allow you to
relay with login but it has the mechanism to login to the real mail
server and then out to the real world

Yes - it's one less than the number of the first occurence of a bad email address, I
believe. Or maybe the server parses all the addresses first and just barfs if _any_

Chris,
I believe I know what you're talking about, however I didn't reply sooner
because I don't know the answer from the Witango side of things. You'd have
to supply a username and password to the server from Witango, just like a
mail client does when it sends mail through a server that requires
Ok, I have attach a JS one that I found and modified
There is also code in to call a TAF every 10 minutes

Hi,
I need to use the client-side system-time to build my taf. Is there a
Tango function I can use, or do I have to resort to good old JavaScript?

Does anyone know how to have Witango send an email using an SMTP server that
requires authentication?

Perfect Scott. Just what I needed. Other good MS links in the article as
well. Sounds like I can do it.
Appreciate it.

Very simple !
Just store your banners in a DB with the links and use the calc-metatag to
calculate how often a banner was used.
Then for the next banner, just make a search on the banner-table and sort it
upwards. Now, just take the first banner-data's and publish it (and count

Hi,
I have created a Mail Action, using HTML to
generate the appearance. I should mention that I didn't include the Page

The appearance is exactly what I want, but I have tried various ways of

I've never tried it, but there was some banner software as one
of the Tango tidbits. I imagine that it's still available on one of
the Witango sites.

I have seen a lot of discussion about writing email to the outgoing folder
of your SMTP server vs. using Witango's mail action.
I use MS Exchange 5.5 on Win2K sp3. Do you know if this strategy will work
with Exchange as well?
If so, should the email be written to the "Out" sub-folder of the "imcd
Has anyone had any experience either having rotating banner software working
with tango like mgi which we use or has anyone written anything in tango to
allow the rotating of advertising.
If anyone can offer any assistance with this I'd greatly appreciate it.

Some time back, I asked a question on here, ( I searched the archive)
concerning and If or Elseif question.
I was building a server up status taf that showed the different ports of
my servers and whether or not they were online. When my external action
brought back the information it gathered, I
