I have download the trial version of the Witango Studio 5.0.1.037 for
windows. But when install it on my PC which running on MS Windows XP
Professional, it appear a message that "service pack 1 is required before
installation can continue". Does it mean I need to have the MS Windows XP
Service Pack
SP 1 for Windows XP.
Reason: Without SP1 you can't decompress the Witango Stuff. This is a
problem of Windows XP and not off Witango.

Those may actually be the ones that are showing up in Studio 5 workspace.

I know there was a performance issue with SP1, but it has been fixed with one of
the zillions of subsequent updates. We use both XP SP1 and Win2k with Studio 5,
and so far no problems.

I've noticed that on the 5.0 Dev Studio, all those variables that were set
to use "Local" in an Assign action automatically get converted to
"Default" - I guess local is being phased out?
The problem is that a 4.0 server doesn't see local and default as the same,
and so the code breaks

We use - on MacOS X a shell script call to do such things, even as
root.
And you get the results back in a variable you can read out.
We use that to manipulate pictures, which are uploaded to a database
(if JDBC worls :-) It is kind of a appleScript replacement .

Just tried it on my XP notebook and no problem. I was able to create a
snippet. I never had TK2 on there don't know if that is the problem. I have
Dev 4 and 5 on my Widows 200 box with no problems as far as snippets are
concerned.

configuration folder.
This ini let's you determine where the snippets are located. Since you
had t2k on there the install probably just set the location in the ini

I think I had installed a Beta earlier, which had converted the old snippets
into snippets.xml and builders.xml, and left them in the windows user
directory.
Then, when I installed the real product later, it put files with the same
names in the witango\
When the the web server and Witango are on seperate computers, witango
client reads the TAF from its local directory structure. Witango Server
file action on the other hand deals with directory local to its server.
