it really helps too if you have a compression utility to zip your database
before sending it to the backup server (or whatever).
databases compress to really high ratios most of the time (:

If your database is very large, this will take a while moving the db over
the internet. Even with a T1 or T3 if you have a db very large, it will
take a long time to back up. I suppose if you do a local copy first and
then move the copy to the backup server might work.

Hi.
I am having problem with Search actions on SQl server 2000.

Hi
I have just switched platforms, because where I work now use Macs. I have a virgin install powerbook with 10.3.2 and tried to install the 5.0 Dev studio. When I try and launch the dev studio I get the dreaded “The application Witango Dev Studio 5.0 has unexpected
This is just a small bit of javascript (3 or 4 lines) to do a regex

regular expression stuff, and was easier to just use the script action.

Ok :)
Another clarification:
There are sites/services on the web that have storage space or will do
backups for you. Is anyone here using one of those sites/services.
I can find them by doing a search, I am just wondering if there are
sites the some on the list have used and could say great site
I use mysqldump via a shell script. You can also set up webmin to
automatically backup your database.
For remote backup on *nix, just use rsync.

Interesting,
I had reported a bug with Javascript in .054, and it got fixed in 065 (or
maybe didn't show up in my cursory tests)
It was on an old ASP site we did that I wanted to keep as a client demo.
The scripting was done in JavaScript instead of VBScript. I had just

Dev,
Can you send me the code snippet. I am facing similar problems.

Ben,
I tracked down which action was causing the crash on my Linux Box. It
was a "Script" action. I took the script action out of the tcf that it
was in, made a simple taf file that has just three actions.
When I hit this file on the server, it occasionally causes the server to
crash. The server
Ben,
I do my backups with witango.
I wrote a little taf file that:
1) sets a domain scope variable so users get a nice message saying
please come back in a couple of minutes, with a javascript refresh to
help
2) shuts down MySQL
3) copies the databases, taf's, tcf's, images etc. to another disk
Clarification:

Ben,
Looked into them, but for the amount of storage we needed, it was going
to bee too much, instead we ended up purchasing a d2d backup system
built by Rave computer in Michigan running Unitrends Backup Profesional.
The system has 2 hotswappable drive bays that are mirroring, and 3
disks.
Hi,
Anyone have experience with online backups and have a service they like?
