I have been extremely satisfied with RBrowser. There's a paid and a lite (free) version. It uses two windows (local server and remote server) and it saves your connections automatically. It even remembers where you were in the local server last time you used it. Check out Version Tracker

I have been using Transmit on Mac for years and I really like the program. I also have been using Cupertino on PC, which is another program I like. I don't think Cupertino is available any more though. Another thought would be to use you browser for transfers. I develop for a lot of printers

I am a long time fetch user but the program has not been updated in years and mine recently stopped working right. Apple had this one on their site. Its $19 Faster then fetch and easier to use. Really does run in the background rather slowing to a crawl whenever you switch to another

A few other people picked transmit also. I'll take a look I like the way I can see the local files and remote. I didn't see a way to store the FTP sites so I didn't have to enter them again. I already paid for ftpeel but at $20 for one and $30 if I have to grab the treansmit it is not a big loss.
