I concur. We've been testing W5 on Xserve extensively over the past few
months and have seen excellent results.

The biggest difference between Xserve and Mac OS X is the server software.
This makes it easy to set up and administer Apache, a mail server (although
I don't recommend Apple's mail server), MySQL (setup only), and other
services such as FTP, DNS, WebDAV, file, print, etc.

The biggest difference between a traditional Mac OS X Server and Xserve
(besides the slick 1U design) is hardware and software integration. The
server monitors components such as the power supply, hard drives, blowers,
temperature, etc and displays them in a slick graphical interface. If the
monitor senses change in any one component outside a certain parameter --
such as a degraded RAID status -- it can send a page or an email alert.
XServe also includes a nice GUI for viewing basic log info, stats, and other
related server information.
