I have several custom actions in one of my installers that do things like
Register ASP.NET, and configure application pools. Each of these pops up a
Command window.
Does anyone know how to have the command window either be minimized or hidden?
Sorry should have been more descriptive, since you are using Network Service as
the Account... Network Service requires a password, most likely your windows
logon credentials password...
So add to the ServiceInstall element Password="" that should work
You also might want to add the ServiceContr
Mark the component as transitive and give it a condition that evaluates to
false. More details at:

Hi guys,
I have custom theme for burn UI where I have custom checkbox. After
installation(when user closes botstrapper) I want to run two applications
installed by one msi based on checkbox value. Is there any way to do this
without creating MBA?
Thanks in advance,
Vasyl

I am trying to start a service as "Network Service" and getting a "access
denied" error. I can start the same service as "Local System". Am I missing
something basic here?
Thanks,

You can remove a component during a minor update, but it is not recommended as
you are orphaning the file(s) when the product is uninstalled.
I have done this when it is absolutely necessary, it just takes adding the
correct remove file entries to clean things up correctly.
As with any change,
Is it possible to remove a component during a minor upgrade? I know
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Aa367850 indicates that removing a
component requires the product code to be changed (which would force a major
upgrade). But from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa370093.aspx,
All of our previous and existing products' versions have the leading 0. Now,
the leading 0 is stripped away when we start using Wix 3.6 bundle. It is
just inconsistent.
