Hello together,

I am very new to wix and have a question where I did not yet find an answer
wherever I searched although this seesm to be a standard problem.

When I am installing my application (used Wix 3.0) I do not see any icon for
the shortcuts that I've produced. Since I wanted to learn from examples (after
searching and finding nothing about this) It tried to build the product.msi
from the product.wxs from the test/shortcut subfolder in the source tree. And
even with that test program no icon for the text file where the shortcut
pointed to appeared inn the start menu (just a standard icon and siome text, of
course). After I clicked on the shortcut the "Text editor icon" appeared, so
this is not a problem that makes the application "unusable".

Since I have an application which links to many pdf and html files that are
provided with the installation I am a bit desperate since my installation is
not very "nice". I think it cannot be the solution to provide my own icon for
pdf and html files, so what is the point that I am missing here?

Sorry if this is a rather stupid question since it seems that this is a
standard case. But unfortunately I did not find any solution yet.

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Regards
Kai
