Using the Pure WIX approach, I was able to get a sample patch to work as documented. Maybe consider restructuring your patch wxs files to use Patch/PatchFamily rather than PatchCreation as shown below. i.e. ?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8? Wix xmlns=http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/2006/wi;
