I posted this question a few day ago, but not to this sub-forum, so maybe
this is why no one answered. The wix-users sub-forum is probably a better
place for it:

I am just reading the Ramirez book on Wix. The author writes here about the
"Languages" attribute of the "Package" element:

"When the end user launches the installer, their computer looks to the
Package element to find out what the supported language is. If that language
isn't installed locally, an error will be displayed telling the user so."

However, up to now, I have always set this attribute to "1033" (en-US) and
never received complaints about my MSIs not installing on localized versions
of Windows.

Am I missing something or is this statement of the author just plain wrong?
