I finally finished this (with the help of PBS On Demand).  I was hoping they'd
get to the bottom of the "How close was Jules Bergman, really, to being an
astronaut?" question.  Does anyone know the answer?  If, say, an astronaut was 
somehow unable to fly, could Jules have subbed?
