Hi,
I'm just wondering what part of the registry is used for the uninstall
option, especially when using the
new options since 1.1.0 like versiongreaterorequal .
The excample on the web page
check type=uninstall condition=versiongreaterorequal path=GIMP
value=2.6.6 /
is nice.
But what is with

Now, following line works for my environement:

Hello everybody,
since some days, I'm fighting with the configuration of Cygwin 1.7.1-1
installation.
I need this version because we change to Windows 7 x64.
Problem: wpkg calls the setup.exe of Cygwin and it starts.
Line which calls the start:
C:\temp\Cygwin\setup.exe -q -R C:\Cygwin
Hello,
just a little question:
I'm working on seperation of a development and a production environment.
Therefore I defined a variable which should select the directory with the
related configuration.
But always the production environment is used.
In the debug log I see:

Hello again,
I face some problems, related to the local wpkg.xml.
1. For what actions is it used beside reflecting the client installation
status?
I have seen that e.g. upgrade and uninstall commands seems to be taken
from this file.
Why and why not from the global packages.xml ?
2. Phantom
Hello again,
just another topic: user rights.
Everyboda will agree that best way to install software is
using a user with local rights for installing software.
But in parallel I need to to some configurations in relation to users.
How can I handle this job avoiding to give users
Hello,
I have a question concerning logical conditions:
Are complex conditions supported like the one below?

are saved immediately after modification instead of just when WPKG

outside WPKG) to prevent loss of some progress in case of unexpected
interruption.

Hello,
today I got the request to do some configuration on Firefox installation:
1. Set some settings
2. install some plugins
3. install some certificates and marked as trustworthy.
Does anyone know how this can be done by scripting during software
distribution?
For IE, I only need to do
Hello Rainer,
I agree to most of your arguments.
But there are some circumstances which cause problems.
Most of my users are road warriors.
Although they have a VPN connection to our company network,
a software update over VPN is impossible (takes too long, blocks the
line).
So, I added a
Hello Rainer,
sorry that I was not correct in the syntax but the reboot
occures if I use /noreboot.
So, any idea?

Hello,
I changed the flag
reboot=false
to
reboot=true
to take into account that ZipGenius needs a reboot after deinstallation
before an update is possible.
Changing back to the original value, the update of wpkg.xml worked fine.
This explaines why it worked on some PCs, because wpkg was

your analysis is so far correct, but the conclusion is not.

Hello Rainer,
let me explain my scenario:
I have a bunch of different user groups: students, secretaries,
consultants, managers, developers, support people.
I created a hierachy in the profiles:
1st level: I grouped packages
2nd level: I grouped the packages for my different usergroups.
