THE MOSQUITO
By Phan Van Tri

O mosquito, you're blessed with all nice things!
What do you lack? Why buzz and still complain?
You've rested on jade mats and ivory beds.
You've stroke and kissed rouged lips or powdered cheeks.

You've hurt poor people, glutting up your paunch.
When a good swatter someday comes to hand,
I'll pay you for your crimes without a blink!

good; information addresses and captures impotent crowds to whom it is poured
forth like a liquor that leaves them dazed as they move toward the slaughter house.
One might even ask if one would allow the cataclysm to occur without first giving
free reign to this hubbub of voices...."
