I understand the
move and use of Web Standards, but I guess I'm not fully aware of
current browser support. Someone posted a reference to http://tantek.com/log/2005/12.html and
I'm aware of Tantek Celik's awesome work on CSS. I've not always had to deal
with cross browser issues until recently. So in learning about CSS, I use the
WSG, Tantek's site, A List Apart, P.I.E. etc. I took a look at this blog
page.
Here's my question.
What kind of support do we get with current browsers, looking at a page
like in the link above?
On my home system,
in IE 6 for Windows every H3 title shows up fine, but the small listing of
tags underneath looks cut off halfway horizontally, all the search
buttons cut the word search in half horizontally, and the form borders look
separated. Text is aligned to the bottom of each image wrapping underneath the
image like expected.
On the same system,
in Firefox 1.5 for Windows every word in the H3 titles shows up on its own line,
but the tags listing underneath shows up fine, and the text wraps around each
image starting at the image's top right.
In Opera, everything
is readable. Is Opera the only browser to get this kind of result? Should the
page be displaying properly in FireFox 1.5? With all the hype about Firefox
thrown at the public, I guess I was expecting full CSS
support.
I'm curious if there
is a reason Firefox and IE aren't displaying properly.
Thanks,
Frustrated
