Did anyone happen to see the Web Standards article in the latest Desktop magazine? (I have a subscription so I got it earlier than the newsagents)
For those of you not familiar with the magazine, it's a primarily graphic/flash design oriented magazine that's generally very high on gloss. It was nice to see an article on web standards but to be honest I wasn't expecting much. It's not too bad actually. It refers to Zeldman and WASP, so it at least has its sources right. It (in my opinion) paints a fairly measured view on web standards in general, trotting out the by now familiar lines of "bandwidth savings" and "future compatibility". Basically I'm not unhappy with it: it's certainly better than I'd expect Desktop to be on a fairly technical subject. Just thought I'd bring it to your attention. Here's the general link of the magazine for those who are interested: http://www.niche.com.au/dt/general.html There's unfortunately no article text online yet.
