Hi Bill and all,
Problem solved. I had copied the *exe files from the ...\Release\bin
directory to another location (so as to build onto the wsjtx_log.adi
file already there). Doing this produced the blank-page icon in the
taskbar.
By doing it the other way -- copying the *.adi file into
...\Release\bin, and running WSJT-X from there -- everything works as it
should.
I probably should have known.
