Without taking a stand in this discussion, it might be a point to consider that
about 10% of men are red-green color blind. So any color not green or red would
actually be helpful for us color blind people.

Hi!
I tried also with darkGreen and blue. No good.
The original green seems to be best choice.
But you can test it by entering src directory, open plotter.ccp, search
lines:
QPen penGreen(Qt::green, 3); //Mark Tol range with
green line (I had here darkGreen and blue inst
Hmmm. The red is a strong visual cue to transmission, so having both in red
would be very confusing.
How about leaving the TX one red as now, but making the ‘receive channel’ a
translucent grey column between the edge of the waterfall and the line above
the audio frequency numbers? I say ‘
I played a bit with colors and nothing is really satisfactory. It's an optical
thing...with any color right on top of the waterfall there isn't any contrast
between the green (or any other color) and the waterfall.
So instead how's this look? A red box when matched.
Or larger red goal posts when

Errr, if the other guy's signal is suffering interference at your end, why
would YOU change frequency, Scott? In those circumstances, he's the one who
should QSY!
I agree with the general point, though, that there are times when it's nice
to know where the green marker is on the waterfall so
I'd like to support Dwight's comment again. How well the FT8 receive marker
stands out is a fine point for sure. But I think there are good reasons to
want to find it quickly. Sometimes it happens that another operator and I have
a contact going, and he has sent me a good signal report -- let
For me, too, the green receive marker is harder to see than the red transmit
marker. Maybe it would stand out better if it were dark green, blue-green, or
blue.

Hi all,
Puzzling. FT8. I have seen this, maybe 20 times in ~2 weeks. Always on 20m and
40m. Here is a fictional example:
144330 -14 -0.1 1550 - CQ K1ABC EN91 ~U.S.A.
144330 -16 -0.1 1552 - CQ K1ABC EN91 ~U.S.A.
Another:
013545 -6 0.2 445 - CQ W9XYZ FN51 ~U.S.A.
013545 -8 0.2 447 - CQ W9XYZ F
Mine is running all the time unless I do the occasional reboot.
Never been an issue here.

If by losing sensitivity you mean fewer signals are decided, are you sure it’s
not just band conditions?
If you’re seeing signals on the waterfall that don’t decode after your computer
has been on a long time, perhaps you need to re-sync your time more frequently?

Hi Gary and you are right in actual use of the application. It's just a
visual thing with these old eyes I guess! ;-)

Hi Dwight.
I agree with you that the green RX marker doesn't stand out ... but I'm
curious as to why that's a problem for you, if you are talking about FT8 on
HF anyway (you didn't mention how you are using WSJT-X).
The software simultaneously decodes all the signals it can across the whole

I have a set of slides that I presented at Quartzfest on “Getting started with
FT8”. I’ll be at Dayton. You’ll have to decide for yourself if I qualify. I
have about 1500 FT8 QSOs in the log.

I'm finding the little green marker for receiving to be too small,
especially when the waterfall is full of signals. It don't stick out
like the red marker. As seconds are critical, spending a second or two
to find it can be critical. Would it be possible to increase it's
height, like X2?

Hi Jeff.
Yes, this or the other/general WSJT-X support forum is the right place for bug
reports.
This bug (or a close relative) was reported and discussed some months ago. By
trial and error, we discovered that rapidly toggling TX (e.g. by halting then
quickly re-starting transmission)
Hello,
Forgive me if I'm not following procedure; this is my first message to the
list. If there's another way I should go about this I'd ask you point me
in the right direction.
I've noticed that if I try to disable transmission by clicking the 'Enable
TX' button to disable it, and it happens a
Hi all,
On behalf of the Yasme Foundation, Ward Silver, N0AX, has asked me
whether anyone from the WSJT Development Team -- or perhaps an
experienced WSJT-X user? -- might be interested in giving a talk or demo
on some aspect of the WSJT modes at the Dayton Hamvention.
