Hi Mike and all,
I've often added a symbolic link in the /lib or the /usr/lib directories
from a later library to, the one needed.
In Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, we have libreadline5 and libreadline7 but not
libreadline6.
eg.
cd /lib; ln -s libreadline.so.7.1 libreadline.so.6
Then refresh the library cache
deb package fails install without it.

A number of things:
1. you can use the CQ FD XXX Grid as the call,
2. How are you going to tell people to NOT use auto sequence
3. Trash the 'tu cq fd' and just include the required info in the last
message and include a 73.
This may allow users who don't know about turning off auto sequenc
And why do we need libreadline6?

Hi All
Sorry for the bandwidth but if anyone is in the northern NJ area, NJDXA will be
hosting Joe Taylor, K1JT as guest speaker tomorrow night, May 11th at 8 p.m.
The presentation will be in the auditorium of the Morris County Public Safety
Training Academy.

I like it. I see Field day as not only training, but PR and get together. All
three purposes are served by using/showing as many Ham activities as possible.
In fact, I plan to try operating WSJT modes myself during FD.

I find 20m already useless for casual operation. To be blunt, I find the band a
constant shit show. I avoid it as much as possible.
It’s not much better on 40m, either.

What would be wrong with using these macros:

I'm going to go against the flow and say yes I would like a field day
option.

Not to mention that the FT8 segments are already VERY crowded. Adding FD to it
would make it pretty much useless for casual operation
I experimented with this last yeardoing FT8 and JT9 at the same time -- two
instances of WSJT-X. It worked quite well.

Why would the receive end care?
What he is doing is similar to Fox mode in WSJT-X. You can transmit multiple
signals at once.
You may be thinking of repeaters where you have to have frequency separation.

Hmmm...so we don't want to train or show anybody the most popular Ham mode on
the planet???
Given the score sheet that you submit doesn't care about who you QSO'd with
don't really need a special mode for Field Day.
So I have to wonder who cares if you don't exchange your state/mode ? Are the
I’m really hoping that the Dev Team chooses NOT to make a Field Day (or any HF
contest) variant for FT8. Too many variations in formats, exchanges, and such
will lead to bloatware and confusion.
Since FD, in particular, is a training event, maybe we shouldn’t encourage
semi-automated contacts.
No...that's somebody with 3 transmissions going on. Different callsigns...same

Is there any interest in Field Day mods for WSJT-X?
I'm envisioning a "Field Day" checkbox in the Advanced box.
That would have the entries for the info State & Exchange
It would simple do custom messages like this:
CQ FD W9MDB -- double-clicking on this would generate FD messages.W9MDB K1ABC

Thanks for the explanation.

Current usage looks like a single channel would serve for both JT65 and JT9.
The JT9 channels, as the least used, could then be used for DX and Fox/Hound
operation. Hope the block allows it.
