described in the User Guide and the referenced paper, its behavior will
be as it should be.
You have not said if you are using CAT control. If YES, and you choose
"Own Echo", you'll see your dial frequency change

changed! It first was showing, on the Echo graph centered (0). And at the same
time it showed on the wide graph as the echo was where it should be – i.e.

I have not followed the ECHO mode documentation, but it may be that on the Wide
Graph, you see the trace coming back as doppler shifed, but (at least in previous
versions) the ECHO mode moves the frequency around, along with its receiver, and just
displays the sum total of the average
