Hi. Thanks to all who continue to develop and enhance WSJT-X. I have been following this thread with interest. A first glance frequency hopping within an SSB "channel" sounds interesting and that is something I expect I would at least try if the functionality was available. From my perspective it would also be nice if there was a way to easily and more or less automatically make use of other SSB "channels" when operating on FT8.
For example, a way to call CQ on the main channel in a manner that facilitates other stations who choose to call me back, automatically qsying to an alternate frequency when calling me back, would be nice. I might call CQ on 50.313 and listen for replies on 50.318 and complete any contacts on 50.318. If other stations who click on my CQ call could automatically QSY to 50.318 and work me on that frequency that would be nice. I realize sending CQ VE7AFZ 318 would likely accomplish much the same thing provided the other operator and I both QSY'd but it would be nice to make this a bit more automated. Random hopping with the channels might also improve things. I realize there is likely a long list of other enhancements pending for FT8 and no worries if this doesn't get implemented. 73 Mark S VE7AFZ
